Membership Information

National members of the Pacific Science Assocation are Adhering Organizations, e.g., national academy of science or like body, from each country or discrete geographic area within or bordering the Pacific Ocean, or with scientific interests in the region, constitute the regular membership of the Association.

In addition, associate membership may be held by individual scientists, scientific societies and institutions, NGOs, and corporations.

Dues are $40 per year, and apply on a calendar year basis. Individual members receive:

NATIONAL MEMBERS (Adhering Organizations)

Current national members include Australia, China (Beijing), China (Hong Kong), China (Taipei), France, Guam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Okinawa, Pacific Islands (Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu), Russia, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Viet Nam.

National Committees are established by each Adhering Organization, and nominate their representatives for the Pacific Science Council. National Committees also implement national-level activities of the PSA.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

Individual members make up a crucial part of PSA’s constitutency. These include individuals working in science, social science, technology, or related fields. As PSA’s mission is to help facilitate environmental and economic sustainability, and more specifically the contributions natural and social scientists can make towards the goal of achieving sustainability in the use of the resources and environment of the Pacific region, these individual member scientists play a key role in PSA’s mission activities.

NGO / CORPORATE MEMBERS

Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and corporate entities who are interested or involved in the scope of PSA’s work are also welcomed as members of the organization.
